Frustrated angel

An angel as beautiful as a sparkling winter day with wings and a gentle voice that saves us from death. That’s how they think of us down there. If there were showers and if the wings were enough for everyone, maybe. But it has become really hard work to save people nowadays. When a person voluntarily throws themselves out of an airplane at 10,000 meters and has decided to compete in how long one dares to wait before deploying the parachute, I think it shouldn’t be in our hands anymore. Or when people ride motorcycles at 200 kilometers per hour, well then, they have only themselves to blame. Do people understand how much training we must undergo to keep up with a motorcycle at 200 kilometers per hour? It’s not just a matter of flapping away, and it doesn’t happen just once a month either. No wonder most angels take the easiest jobs first. But what can you do when you have to sleep because you’re completely exhausted when they distribute the jobs? Still, you feel a responsibility for the little lives down there. I’ve had some truly wonderful jobs in my days. Jobs where you leave a mark on their souls, and they are forever grateful. I had a job once last year. There was a guy in his mid-20s out in the woods doing motocross. But he wanted to show off for his little brother who was watching. In a high jump, he lost control of the motocross and flew off. He landed several meters away with the motocross on top of him. It was a critical moment. But I got his heart going, and I got the little brother running as fast as he could for help. I had to fight all the way to the hospital to keep him alive. He told me he didn’t want to die, and that makes the job easier. He injured his back and had to wear a special harness for two months. But he survived, and it was something he was grateful for. That’s what keeps you going with the idiots. You hope that one day they’ll understand that life is something precious.
